Entry Fee:

  1. The entry fee for each team is $40 ($20 per team member).
  2. If fewer than twenty teams are entered into the tournament, a double elimination format will be used to determine the first and second place teams.
  3. If more than 20 teams enter the tournament, the tournament will be conducted as a single-elimination tournament to reduce the time required to conduct the tournament.

General rules:

  1. Boards are placed approximately 27’ apart from each other (measuring from the front of each board).
  2. Two colors of bags will be used—four bags for each team.
  3. One player from each team stands on one side of the opposite end boards. Teammates should be facing each other.
  4. To determine which team tosses first and the direction of play, one player from each team will throw one bag. The team closest to the hole gets the choice of direction of toss/or throwing first or second (not both). The team further from the hole may choose the other. The second and third game of the match then alternate directions, and which team throws first.
  5. Players next to the same board alternate tosses.
  6. A bag on the board is worth 1 point; a bag leaning into a hole, but not passing through the hole is worth 2 points; a bag in the hole is worth 3 points. Points will only be totaled at the end of each round of 8 tosses. Bags knocked off by other tosses will not be worth any points.
  7. Bags that bounce off the ground onto the board or bags touching the ground should be removed before the next toss and will not count.
  8. A “cancel out” scoring system will NOT be used. Both teams may accrue points each round according to the scoring tally noted in #6 above.
  9. Once a team reaches 21 points, the other team may still finish the round of 4 bags to try to tie or win. The team with the most points at the end of the subject round will be considered the winner. Otherwise, the team that accrues 21 points or more at the end of the round is deemed the winner.
