Job Title: Staff Accountant

Job Category: Full-time

Monday, 9 am to 5 pm,
Tuesday – Thursday, 8 am to 5 pm,
Friday, 8 am to 12 pm

Supervised by: Controller

Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant will support financial recordkeeping, maintain and reconcile accounts, manage expense
reports, and ensure GAAP compliance for Right Direction Church International. This role requires a detail-oriented
individual with strong communication skills, a foundational knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to
adapt to new systems and work in a faith-based environment.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Major Duties:
1. Financial recordkeeping: Maintaining and reconciling accounts, general ledgers, and accounts payable
files
2. Expense Reports: Reviewing and working with cardholders concerning expense reports.
3. Compliance: Ensuring that all financial records and accounting tasks comply with generally accepted
accounting principles (GAAP)
4. Other duties may be assigned related to special projects or tasks within the Finance Department.


Minimum Requirements:
1. The candidate must be comfortable working in an environment where spontaneous prayer and/or singing
can occur.
2. Minimum of a two-year accounting or finance associate degree. Hands-on, independent accounting
experience of five years or more would be considered in lieu of a degree.
3. Must have a firm foundation of basic accounting principles.
4. Must be able to learn new computer programs with instruction.
5. Must be teachable to follow internal guidelines. Suggestions are welcomed but must be approved before
implementation.
6. Physical requirements may include sitting at a desk for long periods of time.
7. Must have great attention to detail and follow instructions.
8. Must have good communication skills to include asking questions when needed.
9. Must be able to manage time to meet deadlines and stay on task during regular work hours.
