Countdown to Pentecost – Day 4
“I Know”
“Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us.” I Cor. 2:12
Jesus promised that when the Holy Spirit came into the earth and indwelled believers, He would “guide you into all truth” (John 16:13). So as I often say, because we have the Holy Spirit dwelling on the inside of us, “we know things that we don’t even know that we know.”
The Holy Spirit is a reservoir of information and revelation. He causes us to know what to do, when we otherwise would not know what to do and what to say, when don’t know what to say. The more that we stay filled with the Holy Spirit, the more sensitive we are to his promptings and the clearer we hear his voice.
We must become comfortable with being led vs. being taught because the Holy Spirit gives us discerning beyond our learning. He leads us step by step and word by word. With natural education, we must remember data, facts and figures, but with the Holy Spirit we must rely on what he tells us to do in each day, in each situation, and sometimes in the moment.
So you know, you just don’t know that you know. Tune in and listen. He will let you know what to do.
