Countdown to Pentecost – Day 10
“He’s A Keeper”
“Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” I Peter 1:5
As I was growing up in the church, I used to hear the older people say: “the Holy Ghost will keep you if you want to be kept.” So the question is never will the Holy Spirit keep us from evil, sin or any temptation. The question is do we want to be kept by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 1:13 tells us that we are also “sealed” by the Holy Spirit, which means that we are both marked and preserved by the Holy Spirit. You don’t have to worry about the devil “stealing your salvation” because you are sealed by the Holy Spirit. Jesus also said that no one will be able to “pluck” us out of his “Father’s Hand.” So your salvation is secure in Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit. So the question remains: will you allow the Holy Spirit to keep you?
If we allow the Holy Spirit to keep us, we don’t have to be overcome by temptation, worry, fear, depression or any other demonic stronghold. I encourage you to allow the Holy Spirit to “keep you” because He’s a keeper if you want to be kept.
